Get to Know 10 Champions of EV Fast Charging
Extraordinary milestones can be reached when organizations work together to achieve a shared objective. In 2021, the Biden Administration set a goal for the U.S. to deploy 500,000 electric vehicle (EV) chargers by 2030, which will require a collaborative effort from leaders across all sectors of the EV charging ecosystem to accelerate deployments.1 Over the last year, there were many organizations leading the charge via innovative actions, partnerships, and proven results who deserve recognition for their efforts toward widespread EV adoption.
As a part of EVgo’s Connect the Watts™ initiative, the National EV Charging Recognition Program was created in 2022 to celebrate organizations taking heroic action to meet the growing demand for EV fast charging infrastructure. Based on EVgo’s experience installing thousands of fast charging stalls across the U.S., we developed recognition criteria and levels of achievement to benchmark success within each sector of the EV charging ecosystem. The 2023 awardees consist of site hosts, utility companies, government agencies, and contractors who have all demonstrated their outstanding commitment to accelerating the deployment of fast charging infrastructure.
We asked each of the 2023 EV charging heroes to share some information about their organizations as well as insights into their success. Keep reading to learn more about each hero and draw inspiration from their achievements in charger deployment.
