How To Charge
Open your EV's charge port and select the appropriate connector from the EVgo app or charger screen.
Plug the connector into your charge port until it clicks firmly into place. (*Listen for the click*)
For a seamless experience, download the EVgo app. To initiate your charge faster, eligible EVs can enroll in Autocharge+.
Drivers of Tesla Models 3/X/S/Y can also fast charge at any EVgo location using a CHAdeMO adapter or using the Tesla connector at select locations across the U.S. Learn more
2Tap to Start Your Charge
To start your charge, tap the EVgo app screen. You can also use a credit card or an EVgo program card at the charger.
Once the charger is activated, your screen will show that the charger is in use.
Now you're free to run errands, grab a bite to eat or enjoy a short break from your day.
You need an EVgo account to initiate a session with the app or program card. Most EVgo stations also offer the option to start a charge with a credit card for a small fee.
3Charge Up and Go
Return to the charger to stop your session on the charger screen. Don't try to disconnect the cable until you've stopped your session.
You'll receive a mobile alert if your session ends while you're away from your car.
To disconnect your EV, push the button on the connector to release it and replace the cable in its holster.
Fast charging works best until you hit 80% charged; if you would like to continue charging after that, we recommend shifting to a Level 2 charger.
